Abstract

A 3-year-old girl had had a 2.5 × 2.1 cm nevus pigmentosus on her left temporal region since birth. Six months before our examination, part of the lesion had become nodular, and at the time of the examination, the size of the nodule was 1.2 × 1.0 cm. Histological findings revealed malignant melanoma (tumour thickness 5.0 mm, pT4N0M0, Stage III A). Despite extensive excision and chemotherapy, metastasis to the right lung occurred, and the patient died 17 months after operation.
