A bright and viewing-angle controlled reflective color LCD using diffusing area control film

Abstract

A new design concept of light diffusing film for reflective color LCD has been proposed. By controlling the diffusing area of diffusing film, both high reflectivity and wide-viewing angle can be obtained, independent of light incident angle. Application of this design concept has result in a high quality reflective color LCD with high reflectivity and wide-viewing angle.
