Abstract
A bipolar imaging device consisting of a capacitor-loaded emitter-follower circuit (BASIS: base-stored image sensor) has been implemented in an imager having 310K pixels (640H x 490V) in a 2/3-in optical format. The BASIS imager has been shown to exhibit excellent performance such as a high aperture ratio of 60%, a small image lag less than 0.1%, and a good linearity having a dynamic range of 76 dB.
