Abstract

Research into superconducting materials and magnets at the High Field Laboratory for Superconducting Materials is surveyed. The design and performance of three hybrid magnet systems which have generated fields up to 31.1 T are discussed. Measurements for upper critical fields and critical current densities in high critical temperature La-Ba-Cu-oxide, La-Sr-Cu-oxide, and Y-BaCu-oxide superconductors are evaluated and graphed.
