Abstract

An account is given on the design simulation, material development, microfabrication and electric characteristics of 0.37 × 0.37 mm2 magnetic thin-film spiral inductors usable for an impedance matching element in an rf front-end circuitry of 1GHz-drive mobile communication handsets. It is demonstrated that the use of magnetic thin-film inductor is advantageous over the existing air-core spiral used in personal handy phone handset.
