160Gbit/s (80Gbit/s × 2 channels) WDM soliton transmission over 10000km using in-line synchronous modulation

Abstract

The application of 80Gbit/s soliton to a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) scheme was attempted. By using a polarization multiplexing technique, the bit rate was increased from 40 to 80Gbit/s electronics. As a result, soliton control at 80Gbit/s was realized based on 40Gbit/s electronics.
