100-Gbps response of microcavity lasers

Abstract

Extremely short photon lifetimes of wavelength-sized microcavity lasers provide ultrafast response capability. 100 gigabit-per-second response of a planar microcavity laser is demonstrated with optical-pulse-train excitation.
