Abstract

The feasibility of 10 Gbit/s transmission has been confirmed through zero power-penalty transmission over a 100 km dispersion-shifted optical fibre, employing a high-speed, small chirping MQW DFB-LD and a high quantum efficiency back-illuminated GalnAs APD.
